This instruction will give you the basics of preparing a leaf for painting and the materials needed to do your own painting. Noble Cheer has many secrets to her paintings that we will not release, but by following these instructions, you too can experience the joy of making a leaf painting.
First you will need to gather the essence of any leaf painting: the leaf. You can use any leaf you want... pick it from the tree or even from the ground. You will want a leaf that hasn't decayed or begun the decay process.
Place the leaf between the pages of a book to allow it to press. You will want the leaf to remain in the book until it is completely dry.
Once your leaf has dried, remove it from the book and prepare your paints. It is best to use acrylic paints if you are a beginning artist, but oils work quite well and make for a richer and deeper painting(though they take longer to dry).
Use small miniaturist brushes and take your time. Paint anything you wish, even if it is just a pattern of colors.
Allow your painting to dry, frame it, and show it off to all of your friends. You are now a great leaf-painter!
